What is Meditation?
Meditation is any method that gently quietens our wandering minds. Ultimately it allows us to see and experience reality as it really is and to understand that we are connected to everyone and everything around us.

Some meditation methods originated from religious and spiritual practices going back thousands of years, for example, Buddhism, Daoism and Yoga. Others like Transcendental meditation have been developed in more modern times.
 
How Does Meditation Work?
Some methods of meditation take the form of concentration exercises and others analyse the mind. Through regular practice the mind becomes more alert and focused. These skills help the mind to concentrate on being present, at will, in the here and now rather than moving backward and forward between the past and the future with no direction.

Through the mind-body connection, regular meditation also affects our bodies and can help to change the quality of our lives and the way we view our bodies for the better.

Meditation Course in Leamington Spa 2010 
The next Meditation Course in Leamington Spa will start April 2010 from 7.00 - 8.30pm at St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, Cashmore Ave, Leamington Spa, CV31 3EU. Classes are usually held alternate Wednesdays. There is free car parking on the school site.
